Blue Jays News ? The Johns Hopkins women's basketball will travel to McDaniel on Wednesday and Haverford on Saturday the the Hopkins' Pink Zone game. The Blue Jays lost their only game last week to Gettysburg. (W. Basketball, February 8) The Johns Hopkins men's and women's basketball doubleheader scheduled for Monday, February 8 at Swarthmore College has been postponed due to the winter storm that hit the region this weekend. The games are rescheduled for Monday, February 15. The women will play at 6:00 pm and the men with play at 8:00 pm. (M. When he felt that the policies of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez were threatening the freedoms and opportunities of people in his native country, Hopkins sophomore Luis Martinez did not stand idly by. Martinez and other student protesters challenged the Venezuelan National Guard, suffering attacks by tear gas and rubber bullets. (February 4) Three Hopkins students were arrested for theft of services after not paying for a taxi ride, and one could face additional charges of assaulting a police officer. Detective Donny Moses of the Baltimore Police Public Affairs Department confirmed that the students involved were sophomore Christina Friedman, freshman Phillips Mitchell and sophomore Alex Grabowski. (February 4) For Amanda Holder, black is more than just a box she checks to describe her ethnicity. "We want to educate people that 'black' is a culture, one that is developed from a mix of several other cultures. 'Black' is a history filled with struggle, accomplishment, revolution and hope for the future," Holder said. (February 4) |
