Find the Rat
Brian
Hey gang, I have a new and awesome game for us to play. It's called "Find the rat in the atrium on M-Level". Basically, if you see the poor rat that is trapped in the atrium on M-Level (the glass housing with the plants and statue inside), you win.
Shit, the thing just jumped like two feet into the air onto a stone ledge. Then it disappeared into the bushes. Jeez, the last thing we need right now is a superrat.
Finals. Daaaanng.
Brian
Good luck everybody. Finish up those finals, then get to enjoying that break between your last final and your flight home. See y'all around.
Whoa.
Brian
Hey everybody. So yeah, I haven't updated in awhile. I'm sorry. I truly am. Do I have an excuse? Eh, perhaps. I've been crammed in the library like a sardine with many of the other students, getting ready for finals. But it's proving to be pretty difficult because Facebook exists.
Anyway, I hope the studying goes well. I'll update y'all if I find out about any interesting study breaks happening around campus.
SPRING FAIR!
Dave
Spring Fair! Yeah Bitches!
For those of you new to this bacchanalia of epic proportions, Spring Fair is the one event that redeems all the crap we put up with for months on end at Hopkins. Junk Food! Entertainment! Random Locals wandering around our campus!
Oh, and BEER GARDEN
Aaaahhh, the beer garden. Sweet purveyor of nectar and sunshine-drenched debauchery. This year, although there is no band (*tthhhbbbt*) there IS a velcro wall (omg people are gonna die), as well as the usual 20 kegs or so... and the random daquiri stand.
Too Young, you say?
Fie! Sneaking into the beer garden is a Hopkins traditions. Whether you are "borrowing" a bracelet from an older friend, surreptitiously falling over the fence, or para-gliding in from an air-drop, the methods are wide and varied. I charge you, though, every one, to make the attempt; even if you're old enough to get in by normal means.
Sweet Pics
Brian
Pictures from that titanic slopfest known as the Fiji Islander are now up. I was responsible for most of the paparazzi-esque photos, and FYI. I'm no photographer nor was I in any condition to deliver crisp, professional-looking photos. Anyways, check the pictures out; they're featured on the left sidebar. for some of you, they'll help you fondly remember a fun weekend. For some ofthers, they'll serve as concrete evidence in helping you reconstruct the spotty memories of a Saturday afternoon. So go see if you can spot yourself in any of the pictures!
Ho Hum
Brian
I hope y'all enjoyed the festivities of Alumni Weekend and the Fiji Islander. I for one was present at the Islander, and definitely enjoyed the sun, the people, and the slip n' slide. In a way, it's almost detrimental having had such an enjoyable weekend, because now, school seems absolutely droll.
Also, I generally don't like to whore myself out to promotions (am I being sarcastic? I actually don't know), but all you seniors should donate to the senior class gift committee. I heard a five-minute shpiel about the committee's intention, and I think it's very giver-friendly since you choose where to commit the money.
On another note, I recently saw a poster in Remsen lambasting Dorothy Sheppard, Associate Dean of Students. I have no opinion regarding her reputation because, luckily, I've never had to deal with her. But if any of you have opinions on this matter, I'd appreciate some feedback, either through the forum or through email. I kind of want to know what's up, especially since I'm still a naive underclassman.
