So, you've gotten to Baltimore and now you need...stuff and lots of it.
Where do you go?
While there isn't too much around Hopkins campus there are places to go to get all the different things you need for your dorm and school. Here's a handy list we at the Jolt have compiled. Some of these places can be a little far away. If your parents are in town, then you've got your ride. But if not, cabs are available (see Getting Around) as are shuttles. It's even better if you know someone with a car. Good luck and happy shopping!
*The links listed below show store information and directions, not just the store's website.
The DailyJolt Marketplace!
Your fellow students are selling stuff all the time! Take a look at what's being sold! You might not have to leave campus!
Towson Town Center Mall
The mall is your typical mall. It has a few department stores as well as a wide variety of specialty stores.
Ikea
For those of you who don't know what Ikea is, it's a more than just a furniture store. It has accesories for everything and is a great place to get some pretty good deals on storage containers. Oh yeah, the richest man in the world owns this chain of stores. *There's also White Marsh Mall located right down the street from Ikea if you're already at Ikea and need a mall*
Target (Number 1 is the one closest to campus)
Target is like a Walmart, it has everything you need and quite possibly more. It can be a little more expensive than Walmart, but has a lot of the same things.
Arundel Mills Mall
This mall has outlet stores and other different kinds of stores that you don't see everyday. It also has a HUGE movie theatre and a resturant with knights and jousting. That's right jousting.
Walmart
The most infamous department store there is. "If Walmart doesn't have it, you probably don't need it." Whether this is true or not, there are plenty of Walmarts in our area.
Bed, Bath and Beyond
This home store has bedding to kitchen supplies. I think the store name covers what they carry.
Comp USA
Computer supplies far and wide...
Best Buy
I've ran out of creative descriptions. More electronic stuff. Yay!
Home Depot
"Your home improvement warehouse!" Place to go to get things for your apartment, dorm, or if you're feeling ambitious...building your own dwelling!
Don't forget good 'ole Ebay and of course the JHU Gazzete has a classified section in it with people selling stuff all the time!
